Oil engine hire: Petrol engine hire – JDM engines pay top wages
JDM engine hire is booming.
Companies that operate fuel injection engines, electric motors, diesel engines, diesel generators and diesel tractors have reported record profits.
But while companies like JDM Engine Group, Daimler AG, Audi AG and BMW AG all report record profits, the median pay is about $16,000 per year, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
So what’s the secret to earning top salaries?
The answer may lie in a range of engineering and construction jobs.
For example, some of the jobs that pay the most are in oilfield and refining, and petroleum engineering.
In addition to petroleum engineering, these jobs also include geoscience, geophysics, geology, hydrology, hydrographic science, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, geological engineering and geosystems engineering.
These jobs require a mix of experience and a wide range of qualifications, said Scott Bresler, director of jobs and careers at the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
“There are a lot of different engineering and science-related jobs that require a broad range of skills,” he said.
“A lot of those jobs are also related to what you would expect to be a pretty specialized area of the job market.”
Bresler also said that, on average, engineers earn about $15,000 a year.
So while the median salary for oilfield engineers is $20,000, oilfield scientists earn more than $50,000 annually.
In comparison, the typical petroleum engineer’s median salary is about half that amount.
Breser said that while oilfield science jobs pay well, they are often poorly compensated and can be difficult to move into.
“These jobs are often relatively unglamorous and require an intense commitment to their job,” he explained.
“They can require a lot more time and energy than other fields and may require you to do some of these other things like become certified.”
So how much does it cost to be an oilfield engineer?
Bresor said the median oilfield engineering salary is $35,000.
That’s a significant increase from the $25,000 median salary of $21,000 that oilfield geophysicists earned in 2014.
But Bresor cautioned that these figures are based on an average of five years of experience, and do not include many different types of jobs.
“Many engineers are working in the oilfield fields for decades and they can be very lucrative, but there are a bunch of different types and areas of expertise that a petroleum engineer might work in,” he noted.
In some cases, oil field engineers have been hired for a variety of different positions.
Besor said that these positions include senior managers, project managers, production engineers, sales and marketing managers, quality control engineers, and other positions.
“Some of these jobs are highly sought after, but not everyone is looking for them,” he continued.
The typical petroleum engineering salary can be as much as $100,000 depending on the company and job.
